Terms of Use

For Top Plate, a mobile app for keeping track of the food you cook.
Effective 19 August 2026. Last updated 19 August 2026.

Top Plate is run by Noah Fisher, an independent developer based in Florida, United States. Using the app means agreeing to what is written here. It is short on purpose.

Your account

You need an account to use Top Plate, and you need to be at least 13 years old to have one. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

What you post

Your photos, recipes, captions and comments stay yours. Posting them gives us permission to store them and show them to the people your privacy settings allow, which is what makes the app work. Nothing more. We do not sell your content and we do not license it to anyone else.

What you may not post

There is no tolerance for abusive, harassing, hateful, sexual, violent or illegal content, for impersonating somebody else, or for posting other people's work as your own. Spam and automated posting are not allowed either.

Accounts that post this material are removed, usually without warning.

Reporting and blocking

Every cook and every comment can be reported from inside the app, and any account can be blocked from its profile. Reports are reviewed and acted on, normally within 24 hours. Blocking removes that person's content from your feed and stops them following you.

You can also email hello@topplate.app.

Recipes written by software

Top Plate uses an AI model to suggest ingredients and cooking steps from a photo. These are estimates and they are labelled as estimates in the app. They are not tested recipes and they are not nutritional advice. Calorie and macro figures are approximations calculated from an ingredient list, not measurements, and should not be relied on for medical or dietary decisions.

Cook with your own judgement. Check that food is properly cooked, and check ingredients yourself if you have an allergy.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from Edit profile, which removes your account and your content rather than hiding it. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.

The boring part

Top Plate is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it will be available or error free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we will say so in the app.
